Western Digital TV Live Hub Review (WDBABZ0010BBK)
You can go with one of the default themes or choose to customize screen backgrounds or themes with your own images. If there's an issue, it's that some of that elegance disappears once you start drilling down into the menus for your files.
Alas, you can end up with a lot of text file names without the nice thumbnail images you'd find, say, on an Apple product--or within the "controlled" environment of the Services section on this product. The WD TV Live Hub Media Player interface is clean, straightforward, and easy to navigate. The background image can be easily changed. The 1TB hard WD TV Live Hub Media Player does make this a more expensive purchase than the Roku Player or Apple TV, and it should be pointed out that those units offer Wi-Fi connectivity while this model doesn't.

Randomly freezes when playing netflix. Read online that others have had this problem. Have found that standing it on it's side and keeping it in an open place has helped, but not gotten rid of the problem, so it may be an issue of overheating. The issues mentioned above have been an inconvenience, but we have still enjoyed using it, as it is a huge improvement to our previous set-up. Does everything I want it to.
And I can control it thru my SlingBox. I bought a Factory Refurb.
But it has no HDD. The drive is needed for Auto Updates. The increased size allows Western Digital to make one important upgrade; the internal 1TB hard drive for media storage.

The rear of the unit is where all the magic happens. It also includes component video and analog stereo out line-out jacks, as well as optical audio-out, Ethernet hookup, and a single USB 2.
The only thing not included is S-Video, but considering how few people use that anymore, it saved space by removing it.
